Walter Mädel

Walter Mädel is an experienced operations and processing manager with a robust background in metallurgy. Currently serving as Operations Manager at European Metals since September 2021, Walter previously held the position of Group Technical Manager at Firefinch Limited, where project management at the Morila Gold mine was a key focus. Walter's earlier roles include Processing Manager at Firefinch Limited, overseeing operations at the Goulamina Lithium Project, and Processing Manager at Altura Mining Limited, leading the processing discipline through various stages of development and commissioning. With a career that began as a Process Engineer at Grootegeluk Coal Mine and included numerous technical and managerial positions across diverse mining companies, Walter holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Extractive Metallurgy.
