Roberta Metsola has had an extensive career in the European Parliament, starting in 2013 as a Member of the European Parliament. Roberta later served as the First Vice President of the European Parliament from November 2020 to December 2021. In January 2022, they were appointed as the President of the European Parliament. Prior to their role in the European Parliament, they worked as a Legal Advisor at the European External Action Service from June 2012 to April 2013. Roberta'searlier experience includes working at the Permanent Representation of Malta to the EU as the Coordinator of the Justice & Home Affairs Unit from October 2004 to May 2012.
Roberta Metsola pursued their Bachelor of Laws (LLd) degree in Law at the University of Malta from 1997 to 2003. Later, they obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Law from the College of Europe in 2004.
