Florian Heissenhuber has extensive experience in IT project management and cybersecurity, currently serving as the Head of the IT Project and Security Group at the European Southern Observatory since April 2006. In this role, Florian is responsible for creating and implementing the cybersecurity program, managing a comprehensive portfolio of IT projects, and overseeing license compliance and optimization. Previous positions at the European Southern Observatory include IT Programme Manager, Head of IT Project Office, Head of IT Central Strategy and Governance, and Head of IT Services, along with early experience as an IT professional at BMW and a Network/Security specialist at IABG. Florian holds a Dipl.-Ing. Univ. degree in Information Technology from the Technical University of Munich.
