Martin Waehlisch

Martin Waehlisch is an experienced professional in international relations and conflict resolution, currently serving as Team Leader at the United Nations since 2014, where Martin is a founding member of the Innovation Cell focused on global challenges. With expertise in Middle Eastern affairs, Waehlisch has contributed to significant diplomatic initiatives within various UN departments and has an extensive academic background as a university lecturer at European University Viadrina. Previous roles include affiliations with the American University of Beirut, Sagesse University, and the Peace Appeal Foundation, in addition to advisory positions for conflict dialogues in Yemen and Burma. Martin Waehlisch holds a PhD in Public International Law from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and has participated in various prestigious fellowship programs at institutions such as Harvard Law School and the University of Cambridge.
