Paul Makowski

Paul Makowski joined Everest Recovery in September 2021 and serves as Head of People Operations. His role is to drive the organization’s people management strategy with a focus on employee engagement, performance, and organizational development. Paul brings 15 years of experience in People Operations where he’s spent much of his career focused on organizational growth, talent management and HR Administration. Before joining Everest, he was working in the technology sector as the Human Resources Director for an Electronic Health Records provider in the Opioid Treatment space. He has several years’ experience working with outpatient substance use disorder clinics. Paul also serves as Board Member and Secretary for Rhode Island Communities for Addiction Recovery Efforts, a RI-based non-profit which advocates for Rhode Islanders impacted by substance use.

Paul is a first generation American whose parents immigrated from Poland. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Westfield State University, and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.

When he’s not focused on People Operations, Paul spends his time having fun with his wife and 2 young daughters where they reside in Somerset, Massachusetts. In the summer, they enjoy fishing and swimming off their boat in Mount Hope Bay. In the winter, they enjoy skiing in the mountains of Maine and Vermont. Paul also enjoys writing and has published a children’s book, inspired by his oldest daughter.
