Tobie de Waal

Tobie De Waal has over 20 years of experience in risk management and compliance in the financial industry. Currently, Tobie is serving as the Director of Risk & Compliance at Exact Payments, where they lead the development of the company's risk and compliance strategy. Previously, Tobie worked as the Director of Underwriting & Risk at Online IPS, where they developed and implemented risk policies for eCommerce merchant accounts. Prior to that, Tobie held various positions at Applied Card Systems, including Credit Card Security Supervisor, Merchant Services Analyst, and Credit Card Security Analyst. In these roles, they supervised a department and streamlined processes to increase efficiency. Tobie also worked at BVSA Group as a Practice & Property Portfolio Manager, overseeing financial reporting and cash flow management. Earlier in their career, Tobie worked at Nedbank for Business as an Assistant Relationship Manager, marketing financial products and analyzing business data.

Tobie De Waal obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Economics, Money & Banking from North-West University / Noordwes-Universiteit from 1996 to 1999. In 2004, they completed an Associate Diploma in Credit Risk Assessment, Financial Management, and Financial Analysis from the Institute of Bankers in South Africa - IOBSA. Tobie also received certification as an ETA CPP from the Electronic Transactions Association in June 2022.
