Gregory Hannum

Gregory Hannum is a highly experienced research professional in the field of bioengineering and bioinformatics, currently serving as a Research Fellow at Absci since January 2021 and as VP of AI Research. Previously, Gregory co-founded Denovium Inc. and held the position of Chief Scientific Officer from August 2018 to January 2021. Prior to this, a tenure as Senior Bioinformatics Scientist occurred at Synthetic Genomics from August 2014 to August 2018, and a role as Biostatistician was held at Sequenom from July 2012 to August 2014. The academic journey began at the University of California at San Diego, where Gregory completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Bioengineering in 2012, following a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering obtained in 2006. Research expertise includes systems biology with an emphasis on genetic association studies.
