Nikita Balabin

Nikita Balabin serves as the Head of Machine Learning Research at Exactly.ai since April 2023, and previously held titles including Lead Machine Learning Research Engineer and Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Gradient. Balabin's experience encompasses a focus on mobile AI beauty filters and art portraits created through diffusion models. As a Research Engineer at Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology from November 2020 to March 2023, Balabin specialized in computer vision, Bayesian deep learning, transfer learning, and topological data analysis, while also contributing as a Teacher Assistant in machine learning courses. Earlier roles included a Junior Data Scientist position at Mail.ru Group and researcher at Lomonosov Moscow State University, where Balabin investigated genetic markers related to health outcomes and applied statistical analyses in medical research. Currently pursuing a PhD in Computational and Data Science and Engineering at Skolkovo Institute, Balabin holds a Master's degree in Mathematics from Lomonosov Moscow State University.
