Whitney Smith McIntosh

Whitney Smith McIntosh is an experienced professional currently serving as the District Vice Commander and American Legion legislative liaison for The American Legion of Iowa since July 2022. In addition, Whitney holds the position of Human Resources Manager at Excell Marketing and has been the Chaplain since September 2022. Whitney has also held leadership roles such as Vice Chairman of the Board for the Iowa Commission on the Status of African Americans and a member of the Board of Directors for Southeast Polk Board of Education. Previous experience includes being a Team Lead at Milestone Technologies, Inc., a Classification Specialist with the State of Iowa, and an Adjunct Professor at Des Moines Area Community College. Educated at the University of New Haven (M.A. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology) and Clarion University of Pennsylvania (B.A. in Psychology), Whitney demonstrates a strong commitment to community service and workforce development.
