Nishant Shekhar

Nishant Shekhar is a seasoned professional in the field of bioinformatics, currently serving as a Senior Scientific Analyst - I at Excelra since January 2025. Prior to this role, Nishant worked as an Associate Bioinformatics Engineer at Strand Life Sciences, where significant contributions included developing Docker images for software deployment, as well as creating a Nextflow pipeline for Whole Genome Methylation Data Analysis to enhance NGS data processing efficiency. Early career experiences include a position as a Project Associate at CSIR-IGIB, focusing on mutation calling from whole genome sequencing and RNA-sequencing pipeline development for triple negative breast cancer datasets. Nishant holds an MSc in Bioinformatics from the Central University of South Bihar and has completed a dissertation on Transcriptomics at the National Institute of Animal Biotechnology. Academic credentials also include a Bachelor's degree in Zoology from Lalit Narayan Mithila University and higher secondary education in Biology from the Central Board of Secondary Education.
