Luc Martens

Luc Martens is the founder and president of Excentis, established in May 2000. Martens has been a professor of Wireless Networks, IoT, and applications of Electromagnetic waves at Ghent University since September 1987, where Martens also co-manages the WAVES research group since 2017. Martens served as the university director at imec from 2018, following the integration of iMinds into imec. Additional entrepreneurial ventures include co-founding ART4L, Viniecom - La Fattoria, and Magikietsvragen.be, while also leading initiatives in community-supported agriculture and enhancing organic food production through Moestuin Architect. As president of the BioEM Society from 2022, Martens fosters international collaboration on the health effects of electromagnetic fields. Martens earned a Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Ghent University, complemented by a degree in engineering from the same institution.
