Jay McCarthy

Jay McCarthy is a distinguished computer scientist and entrepreneur, currently serving as Co-Founder, Chief Architect, and Chief Security Officer at PrimeVault since June 2023, and Co-Founder and CTO at Reach Platform since September 2019, where the focus is on building blockchain applications. McCarthy has been a key developer of the Racket programming language since April 2005 as a member of the Racket Project Leadership Committee. Academic appointments include Associate Professor at the University of Massachusetts Lowell from July 2015 to August 2022, and prior positions at Vassar College and Brigham Young University. McCarthy holds a PhD and a ScM in Computer Science from Brown University, where research was conducted under Shriram Krishnamurthi. Early career roles included positions at Exis Capital, MITRE Corporation, and as a Translator Liaison.
