Brenda Hefti

Brenda Hefti currently serves as Senior Vice President of Intellectual Property and Licensing in Legal Services at Exelixis, a role held since February 2013, where responsibilities include supporting various teams with comprehensive legal processes for therapeutic products and negotiating numerous types of agreements. Previously, Brenda worked as Assistant Director of Industry Contracts at the University of California, San Francisco from May 2010 to February 2013, focusing on clinical trial agreements and patent evaluations. Additional experience includes consulting as a Sole Practitioner and serving as an Associate at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati, where Brenda provided legal counsel to biotechnology and medical device companies. Brenda began their career at the National Institutes of Health as Licensing and Patenting Manager, negotiating intellectual property licenses and managing extensive patent prosecutions. Educational qualifications include a J.D. from the University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco, a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a BA in English and Molecular Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.
