Michael Kurz

Michael Kurz is the current Vice President of Translational Medicine & Medical Affairs at eXIthera. Prior to this, they served as Executive Director, Head of Medical Affairs and Head of Translational Medicine at Edge Therapeutics from April 2015 to May 2018. From November 2012 to March 2015, they were the Director of Medical Affairs at Portola Pharmaceuticals. Canyon Pharmaceuticals, Inc. employed Kurz from August 2008 to November 2012 as their Vice President of Global Medical Affairs.

Kurz has also worked with Cordis Corporation (a Johnson & Johnson company) as their Executive Director of Medical Affairs from December 2003 to December 2005. Their work in medical affairs began at Centocor, Inc. where they served as Director of Cardiovascular Medical Affairs from December 1997 to December 2003. Out of their many roles in the medical field, Kurz is also a founding father of COOL~BIO, Inc., where they held the title of Chief Science Officer from December 2010 to December 2013.

In addition to their experience in the medical industry, Kurz has also worked as a Principal for MAK Biopharma Consulting Services and as a Senior Research Scientist for Gensia from December 1991 to December 1997.

They are on a team with Charles Victor Pollack Jr. - Medical Director, Priya Jambhekar - Head, Regulatory Affairs, and Andy Hu - Head, Corporate & Business Development. Michael Kurz reports to Neil J. Hayward, CEO, President, & Co-Founder.
