Frank Smits

Frank Smits has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. Frank is currently the Head of Public Cloud Platform at ABN AMRO Bank N.V., where they oversee various teams responsible for managing the bank's cloud infrastructure on Azure. Prior to this, Frank served as the Chief Technology Officer at Expect Me, where they contributed to building an innovative cloud platform for the hospitality industry using AWS and microservices. Frank also held the position of Senior Manager and Head of IT Cloud CCoE at Ingram Micro Cloud, where they set up Cloud Center of Excellence teams and led cloud transformation initiatives for SMB and enterprise organizations. Frank has a strong background in cloud architecture, having worked as a Manager Public Cloud & Lead Azure Architect at PCI and as a Lead Cloud Architect at various organizations including Van Oord, Argenta Bank, CycloMedia, RTL, and Talpa. Frank started their career as an IT Manager in Consultancy & Development at ITEC and worked as a Pre-Sales/Business Consultant at Xerox.

Frank Smits has a diverse education history. Frank began their education at Heerenlanden College from 2000 to 2008, where they studied Economics and Administration. In 2004, they attended CIOS Arnhem & Den Bosch and completed a degree in Sport & Health Management with a focus on Management, graduating in 2008.

In 2014, Frank attended AIIM and obtained a degree in Enterprise Content Management. The same year, they also completed a User, Administrator & Consultant Certification in Information Management at M-Files Academy.

In 2017, Frank furthered their education in Information Sciences at Microsoft Nederland, where they earned a CIE Facilitator (Customer Immersion Experience) degree. Frank completed the High Potential Program at Ingram Micro from 2020 to 2021, specializing in Management.

Additionally, Frank Smits has obtained several certifications throughout their career. Notably, they became an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner in 2021, achieved the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals certification in 2019, and obtained various certifications related to M-Files Corporation, including M-Files Business Administrator, M-Files IT Administrator, and M-Files User certifications, all in 2015. Frank has also been certified in Behavioural Risk and Customer Central Principles by ABN AMRO Bank N.V. in 2023, among other certifications obtained throughout their career.
