LD Herrera, MS Cybersecurity, CISSP

LD Herrera has over 30 years of experience in the technology and cybersecurity industry. LD began their career in 1990 as a PC Technician at Guarantee Trust Life Insurance where they created the company's first PC-based Token-Ring Network. In 1992, they moved to C & A Industries, Inc. as a Network Administrator where they provided network, FoxPro database programming, and all other technical support for subsidiary companies. From 1997 to 1999, they worked as a Contractor for Union Pacific Railroad, first as a LAN Manager at the Harriman Dispatch Center and then as a Lead Engineering Help Desk Technician. From 1999 to 2001, they were the President/CEO of LDS Consulting, Inc. and from 1999 to 2006 they were the Lead Microcomputer Analyst for the Y2K Project at Alegent Health. Finally, from 2006 to present, they have been the President/CEO of Expert Approach, Inc., providing technology and marketing services for businesses.

LD Herrera has a comprehensive education history. LD earned a PhD in Cyber Defense from Dakota State University between 2021 and 2024. Prior to that, they obtained a MS in Cybersecurity Technology from University of Maryland Global Campus between 2018 and 2021. LD also earned a BS in Marketing from University of Maryland Global Campus between 2008 and 2014. LD attended Carnegie Mellon University between 1990 and 1992, studying Math and Information Technology. LD also attended Creighton University, University of Nebraska at Omaha, and Morningside University to study Information Technology. Finally, they attended Creighton Preparatory School between 1986 and 1990. LD Herrera is also a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)², which they obtained in May 2021.
