Ying Li is a Study Director at Explora BioLabs. Ying received their undergraduate degree in Biology from Peking University in 2007 and their PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Iowa in 2014.
During their time at the University of Iowa, Ying worked as a Graduate Research Assistant, evaluating the effects of suppressor of cytokine signaling 3 (SOCS3) on the vessel wall. Ying also elucidated inflammatory mechanisms involved in vascular dysfunction and hypertension using both genetic and pharmacological approaches. In addition, Ying developed in vivo models of hypertension, vascular dysfunction, and oxidative stress.
Ying's research has identified the role of immune cells-expressed SOCS3 in development of hypertension and vascular dysfunction in vivo using bone marrow transplantation and fluorescence activated cell sorting analysis (flow cytometry). Ying has also determined the dose-response relationship of multiple pharmacological agents both in vitro and in vivo. Ying is proficient in a variety of scientific skills, including wire myograph, rodent surgery, blood collection, pharmacological agent administration, bone marrow transplantation, fluorescence activated cell sorting analysis, serum and plasma extraction, blood pressure measurement, tissue culture, and leukocytes isolation.
Ying Li completed both their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) at different institutions. First, they completed their M.D. at Southern Medical University in Guangzhou, China. Afterwards, they moved to the United States where they completed their Ph.D. in Pharmacology at the University of Iowa.
Ying Li reports to Nathaniel Paige, CEO. They are on a team with Tiffany Granacki - Senior Director, Sales & Marketing, Irasema Janette Delgadillo - Client Services Manager, and Elyse Walk - Compliance Manager.
