Stefan Scheerer

Stefan Scheerer is a seasoned professional in the tourism industry, currently serving as General Manager at Exploration Travel since March 2023, focusing on sustainable travel experiences in Asia. As Co-Founder of The Roots Routes, established in October 2021, Stefan leads cultural experience design initiatives for curious travelers. Additionally, since August 2022, Stefan has contributed to Thammasat University as a Visiting Lecturer on Urban Tourism. Previous experience includes roles at Khiri Travel as General Manager, Assistant General Manager, and Customer Care Manager, as well as a Short Term Consultant at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). Early career stages include an internship at the Mekong Tourism Coordinating Office and facilitating outdoor adventure team-building activities at Track of the Tiger T.R.D. Stefan holds multiple degrees, including Master of Arts in Southeast Asian Studies from Chulalongkorn University and Master of Arts in Modern South and Southeast Asian Studies from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, along with a Bachelor of Arts in International Tourism Management from Breda University of Applied Sciences.
