Andrew Walker has a diverse work experience in the field of biological data science. Andrew started their career at The Expert Patients Program CIC as a Program Facilitator from February 2006 to June 2009. Andrew then worked as a Research Intern at Public Health England in July 2012. Andrew joined the University of Oxford in October 2013 as a DPhil Researcher until November 2017. Andrew then became a Bioinformatician at Immunocore from April 2017 to December 2018 before being promoted to Senior Bioinformatician until November 2020. Andrew's most recent role was at Exscientia, where they served as a Senior Biological Data Scientist from November 2020 to January 2022 before being promoted to the position of Associate Director, Biological Data Science. In this role, they lead the Target Analysis group, focusing on scientific and technical areas such as building Knowledge Graphs and conducting multi-omic analyses.
Andrew Walker holds a Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) degree in Infectious Disease from the University of Oxford. Andrew also has a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Systems Biology from the University of Warwick and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Biology from the University of Leeds.
