Tomas McCormack has a diverse range of experience in the plumbing and heating industry. Tomas started their career as an apprentice plumber at Niall Whelan Plumbing and Heating Ltd. in 1999, where they worked until 2003. Tomas then moved on to Gareth Whelan Plumbing and Heating Ltd. as an apprentice plumber from 2003 to 2005. Following that, they worked as a plumbing foreman at Brendan Butler Plumbing and Heating Ltd. from 2005 to 2006, and then at Brendeck Developments for a short period in 2006. Tomas then started their own company, Tomas McCormack Plumbing and Heating Ltd., where they served as the managing director from 2006 to 2014. In 2014, they joined Exyte as a mechanical technical lead, senior design engineer, and MEP manager, where they continue to work. Throughout their career, Tomas has gained experience in project management, commercial, industrial, and domestic plumbing projects, liaising with suppliers and customers, quotations, budget management, materials requirement forecasting, renewable heating systems, grant projects, payroll, computerized accounts, VAT, and ensuring safe work practices.

Tomas McCormack graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Building Services Engineering from Waterford Institute of Technology in 2014. Prior to that, in 2005, they obtained a National Craft Certificate Level 6 in Plumbing from FAS. In 2017, they completed a Post Graduate degree in Renewable Energy and Energy Management from Ulster University. Tomas also received training in Building Energy Rating Assessment from Chevron Training in 2007 and became an OFTEC Oil Fired Technician in Safe Oil Work from FAS Training Centre, C.I.T. Cork in the same year.
