Huy X. Nguyen

Huy X. Nguyen, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Huy currently serves as the Head of Game Economy at Eyeball Games since 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Game Economist at Tempo from 2022 to 2023. In their role at Tempo, they analyzed data and developed models for forecasting various key performance indicators. Huy also derived formulas for asset prices and event probabilities.

Dr. Nguyen has also held positions in academia, including a Lecturer in Entrepreneurship at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute - The Lally School of Management from 2021 to 2022, where they taught courses in statistics, microeconomics, and entrepreneurship. Huy designed a hands-on experience to help students start small businesses and supervised research papers. Huy was also an Adjunct Professor of Microeconomics at California Lutheran University from 2020 to 2021, where they adapted their teaching methods to online technologies.

Earlier in their career, Dr. Nguyen worked as an Instructor of Microeconomics & Mathematics at Johns Hopkins Center For Talented Youth (CTY) from 2014 to 2018, teaching college-level courses to gifted students. Huy also served as an Instructor, Teaching Assistant, and Economics Research Assistant at UC Santa Barbara from 2012 to 2018, where they taught a variety of economics courses and received recognition for their teaching. Additionally, they founded and served as the CEO of Math Mentor San Diego, a company focused on teaching problem-solving through math.

Dr. Nguyen's experience also includes a research assistant position at Boston University, where they worked on econometric theory using MATLAB and Monte Carlo simulations. Huy began their career as an Accounting Assistant in microfinance at Accion, where they conducted research and processed financial accounts. Prior to that, they worked as a private math instructor.

Huy X. Nguyen, Ph.D. has a diverse education history. Huy started their academic journey at Vista High School, where they obtained their I.B. Diploma in 2005. Later, they attended UC San Diego from 2005 to 2009 and earned a B.S. in Management Science (Operations Research) and a B.A. in International Studies: Anthropology. In 2011, Huy pursued further studies at Boston University, where they obtained their M.A. in Economics in 2012. Huy then attended UC Santa Barbara from 2012 to 2019, earning a Ph.D. and an M.A. in Economics. Additionally, in 2015, Huy briefly pursued Diplomacy and International Relations at Seton Hall University. Huy is currently studying at Santa Barbara City College and is expected to earn numerous A.A. and A.S. degrees across various fields such as Communication, Psychology, Education, Mathematics, Philosophy, and Liberal Arts by 2024.
