Ahalya Viswanathan Ph.D.

Ahalya Viswanathan has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Ahalya began their career as a Summer Intern at Medtronic in 2002. After that, they pursued a PhD at UC Berkeley, where they worked as a PhD student from 2003 to 2008. Following their PhD, Ahalya worked as a Postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics from 2009 to 2012. Ahalya then joined Dräger as a Sr. Clinical Engineer from 2013 to 2015, where they led project teams and successfully completed various projects. In 2014, they were promoted to the role of Senior Program Manager, where they continued to manage projects and teams, collaborating with global partners and successfully delivering projects on time and within budget. Ahalya worked at Dräger until 2019 when they joined Glaukos Corporation as a Senior Manager, overseeing the Corneal Health Portfolio. Currently, they are working at EyePoint Pharmaceuticals as a Senior Director, Portfolio Management.

Ahalya Viswanathan has a strong education background in the field of vision science and biomedical engineering. Ahalya obtained their B.S.E. in Biomedical Engineering with a concentration in medical instrumentation from Case Western Reserve University, attending from 1998 to 2003. Ahalya then pursued their Ph.D. in Vision Science, specializing in Neuroscience, at the University of California, Berkeley, completing their studies from 2003 to 2008.
