Sastero Mundagir has extensive work experience in the marine industry. Sastero began their career in 1994 as a Marine Engineer Unlimited with MISC Bhd, where they worked until 2002. Sastero then joined Sutrajaya Shipping Sdn . Bhd as a Marine Chief Engineer Unlimited from 2002 to 2005. Next, they worked at Tanjung Offshore Berhad as a Marine Chief Engineer Unlimited from 2005 to 2012. Since 2012, Sastero has been with Emas Offshore Ptd Ltd, where they hold the role of Marine Chief Engineer Unlimited. Sastero also has experience as a Board Member at MARCO MARINE SERVICES SDN BHD since 2014.

Sastero Mundagir obtained a Diploma in Marine Engineering from Ungku Omar Polytechnic, where they studied from 1990 to 1994. After completing their diploma, they attended Malaysia Maritime Academy and achieved a 1st Class Certificate of Competency as the Chief Engineer Officer of 3000kW or more for Unlimited Trade Voyages.
