Özlem Ataman MD PhD

Özlem Ataman MD PhD has extensive experience in the field of oncology research and development. Özlem is currently serving as the VP of Oncology Clinical Development at F-star Therapeutics, Inc. Prior to this, they worked at AstraZeneca from 2019 to 2023, where they held the position of Clinical Oncology Research and Development. Özlem also served as the Head of Translational Research and Deputy CMO at SOTIO a.s. from 2017 to 2019.

Before joining SOTIO, Özlem Ataman worked as the Director of Clinical Oncology at Eisai US from 2014 to 2017. Özlem was also a member of the CT Radiation (CTRad) working group at the National Cancer Research Institute from 2009 to 2017, where they focused on clinical and translational issues related to radiotherapy and radiobiology.

Earlier in their career, they held various positions at AstraZeneca, including Senior Research Physician in Oncology from 2006 to 2012. Özlem was also a Clinical Director in the Oncology Therapeutic Area at Janssen, Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson and Johnson from 2012 to 2014.

Özlem Ataman started their career as an Assistant Professor at the Dokuz Eylul University Hospital Radiation Oncology Department from 2003 to 2006. Özlem also worked as an ESTRO Research Fellow at the University of East Anglia from 2000 to 2003.

Throughout their career, Özlem Ataman has demonstrated expertise in oncology research, clinical development, and translational research. Özlem has made significant contributions to the field, particularly in the development of radiation oncology combinations and the integration of targeted agents with radiotherapy to enhance treatment effectiveness.

Özlem Ataman MD PhD completed their education history, starting in 1992 and ending in 2003. Özlem obtained their Specialist degree in Radiation Oncology from Dokuz Eylul University, where they studied from 1992 to 1997. Özlem then pursued a PhD in Outcomes Research in Oncology at UCL from 1999 to 2003.
