Arul Elumalai

Arul Elumalai has extensive work experience in the technology industry. Arul currently holds the position of Senior Vice President and General Manager, BIG-IP at F5, a role they began in September 2022. Prior to this, they served as Vice President and General Manager, BIG IP ADC at F5 from December 2019 to August 2022.

Before joining F5, Arul worked at McKinsey & Company as a Partner from September 2011 to December 2019. In this role, they provided strategic advice to CXOs in the high tech industry, focusing on growth strategy, business building, sales & marketing transformations, and M&A topics. Arul also supported clients in the retail, financial services, and insurance sectors on digitization and cloud strategy. Arul led McKinsey's research on technology trends in enterprise IT infrastructure and enterprise adoption of public cloud and SaaS. Arul was a regular speaker at technology conferences, contributor to the McKinsey Quarterly, guest lecturer at the Haas School of Business, and leader of community initiatives.

Earlier in their career, Arul worked at Microsoft in various product management roles. From November 2005 to August 2011, they served as the Product Management Lead for Office 365, focusing on Lync and Microsoft Teams. Prior to that, they held the position of Product Manager in the SQL Server Division from March 2001 to October 2005.

Arul Elumalai holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) Honors degree in Electronics from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. Arul also completed a Master of Science degree in Computer Science and Software Engineering from Kansas State University. Additionally, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Strategy and General Management from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business.
