Shahnawaz Backer

Shahnawaz Backer is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in solutions engineering and IT security. Currently serving as Director of Solutions Engineering at F5 since February 2016, Shahnawaz focuses on enhancing the adoption of F5 Distributed Cloud and SaaS solutions, conducting CxO briefs, executing complex proof of concepts, and enabling teams through community-building events. Prior to F5, Shahnawaz held multiple roles at IBM from September 2009 to January 2016, specializing in architectural design for IT security systems and implementing various security solutions. Earlier career positions include Senior Systems Engineer at ILANTUS Technologies and Member of Technical Staff at Persistent Systems, with specific expertise in identity and access management and security software design. Shahnawaz holds a Master of Science in Cyber Security from the University of West London and a Bachelor's degree in Information and Communication Technology from the Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology.
