Peter Heltzel

Peter Heltzel is an experienced fisheries biologist with a strong background in environmental science and project management. Currently serving as a Fisheries Biologist at DCG/Watershed since July 2017, Peter has previously held positions including Engineer I at King County’s Solid Waste Division, where responsibilities included compliance monitoring. Peter has also worked as a Fisheries Biologist at Hart Crowser, Inc., where contributions focused on evaluating environmental impacts in Southeast Cook Inlet, and served as Senior Fisheries Biologist at Cardno TEC, Inc. Early career roles included management of fisheries projects at the Columbia River Estuary Study Taskforce and regulatory document management at SAIC. Peter holds a Master of Science in Marine Science from The University of Auckland and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Oregon.
