Martin Hogg serves as the Dean of the School of Law at the University of Galway since November 2021 and has held the position of African Regional Forum Liaison Officer for the International Bar Association’s Academic & Professional Development Committee since January 2024. With a significant tenure at the University of Edinburgh Law School from 1995 to 2021, Martin Hogg served as Dean, Professor of the Law of Obligations, and Lecturer/Senior Lecturer. Additionally, Martin Hogg is a non-practising Advocate with the Faculty of Advocates, the representative body of the Bar of Scotland, since 2015. Early career experience includes a role as a Trainee Solicitor at Dundas & Wilson from 1993 to 1995. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Law, alongside multiple degrees in law from The University of Edinburgh.
