Matt Cannon, CISSP has over 20 years of work experience in the field of information security. Matt currently serves as the VP, Information Security Officer at FAIRWINDS Credit Union, where they provide leadership to the Information Security Program and Team. Matt is responsible for developing and maintaining information security standards, as well as delivering training programs.

Prior to their current role, Matt was the IT Security Officer at Cru Global for four years, where they served as the process owner for ensuring the protection of information assets and compliance with relevant frameworks. Matt also worked closely with Legal Counsel on data protection and privacy requirements.

Before joining Cru Global, Matt held the position of Manager of Security Services, where they provided leadership to the safety and security operations at the World Headquarters of an International organization. Matt managed domestic and international security matters and worked on IT security needs, including PCI compliance and vulnerability management.

Matt also served as the Executive Vice President at Braccio and Associates, Inc, a state-licensed security/investigation firm and security training school.

Matt Cannon, CISSP, holds a Master's degree in Information Systems Management from Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University. Matt also obtained a Graduate Certificate in Information Security from the same institution. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science in Technical Management from DeVry University, with a focus on Information Security, Criminal Justice, and Security Management. Matt has an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies from Valencia College. In addition to their formal education, Matt has obtained various certifications, including the CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) from (ISC)² in 2013 and the Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK) from the Cloud Security Alliance in 2015. Matt also holds certifications such as GIAC Law of Data Security & Investigations (GLEG), GLEG - Certified in Legal Issues in Information Technology and Security from GIAC - Global Information Assurance Certification, and Certified Protection Professional (CPP) from ASIS International.
