Sindhu Govindan

Sindhu Govindan has a diverse work experience in the field of healthcare and biosciences. Starting in 2004, Govindan worked as a Research Assistant, Project Fellow, and Junior Research Fellow at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, where they were involved in various projects focusing on molecular diagnosis, mutation analysis, and lymph node metastasis in head and neck cancer. In 2010, they joined the Mazumdar-Shaw Cancer Center as a Research Scholar. In 2014, they continued their research work as a PDF at OncostemDiagnostics Pvt Ltd, and later at OncoStem Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd. as a Scientist. In 2020, Govindan joined the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) as a Scientist for the COVID-19 Testing Laboratory, where they played a crucial role in setting up a COVID-19 testing facility. In the same year, they also worked as a Senior Scientist at Farcast Biosciences, contributing to an ex vivo platform for drug modulation in cancer and participating in data analysis. Currently, they are employed at Karkinos Healthcare as a Biobank Lead.

Sindhu Govindan has an extensive education history. Sindhu obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Oncology and Cancer Biology from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences from 2010 to 2014. Prior to that, they completed their Master's degree in Biotechnology at St. Peters College, Mahatma Gandhi University in Kerala from 2002 to 2003. Sindhu also holds a Bachelor's degree in Botany from the same institution, completed from 1997 to 2000. Sindhu Govindan completed their high school education at TV Joseph Memorial High School in Pindimana, Kothamangalam, from 1993 to 1995.
