Matt Sweeting

Dr Matt Sweeting joined Farleigh Hospice in June 2020, having previously worked as the Divisional Director for Medicine and Emergency Care at Broomfield Hospital and Clinical Lead for Acute Frailty across the Mid and South Essex STP. He is also a Consultant Geriatrician at Broomfield Hospital and has a specialist interest in Parkinson’s disease, frailty and quality improvement in healthcare. He was previously a Darzi Clinical Fellow and completed the majority of his training at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. He undertook his medical and postgraduate training at King’s College London. In his role as Director of Care, he is responsible for overseeing the delivery of all clinical services and he is the registered manager for the organisation. He is responsible for setting the clinical strategy and instigating new service developments. He ensures that we continue to provide patient-centred end of life care across the whole of mid-Essex.Matt is a committed Christian and a local Church Warden. He enjoys swimming and playing the cello whenever his children allow! Matt is the Care Quality Commission Registered Manager for our North Court Road site.
