VP, Financial Planning & Analysis at Farmer Mac

Evan Thayer is the current Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis at Farmer Mac. Evan has held this position since March 2021. Prior to joining Farmer Mac, Thayer served as the Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis at E*TRADE from April 2005 to March 2021.

Thayer is a highly experienced financial planning and analysis professional. At E*TRADE, they led the monthly financial forecast process, which included the income statement, balance sheet, yield table, and regulatory capital for E*TRADE Financial and its regulated subsidiaries. Evan also led the financial planning and reporting systems development and operations for E*TRADE. In addition, Thayer led the semi-annual Stress Testing efforts across the Finance organization.

During their time at E*TRADE, Thayer was responsible for scenario and sensitivity analyses for balance sheet, capital utilization, organic growth initiatives, and M&A opportunities to drive shareholder value. Evan was also instrumental in the implementation of new DFAST and business as usual forecast processes and systems, which integrated econometric modeling in Hyperion Planning to reduce reliance on manual, spreadsheet-based processes and decrease forecast processing time.

Under Thayer's leadership, the company successfully implemented a new headcount forecasting and reporting system with full integration with HR and recruiting systems. This enabled life-cycle management of the hiring process from requisition inception to employee on-boarding. The new reporting capabilities improved the company's management of headcount and the projected hiring plan.

Lastly, Thayer successfully implemented new processes, forecasting tools, and reporting to meet all requirements for Dodd Frank Act Stress Testing with successful submissions from 2014 through 2018.
