Shannon Hammer

Shannon Hammer is an experienced educator currently serving as a Permanent Building Substitute Teacher at Farmington Public Schools since August 2023. Previous roles include being a Paraeducator at Head O' Meadow School, a Student Teacher in special education at Sandy Hook Elementary School, and a Student Teacher in a 4th grade class at Ellington Public Schools. Shannon has also worked as a Paraeducator for a pre-k and kindergarten readiness program at Quaker Farms School and as a Teacher Assistant in the Early Childhood Education and Development Program with Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES. Additionally, Shannon has experience as a Student Ambassador for the University of Hartford and as a camp counselor for Newtown Parks and Recreation. Educational qualifications include an Associate of Arts in Education Studies, a Bachelor of Science in Integrated Elementary & Special Education, and an ongoing Master of Education in Special Education and Teaching at the University of Hartford.
