Jim Weaver

Jim Weaver is a seasoned safety professional with extensive experience in environmental health and safety leadership. Currently serving as Senior Director of EHS Development at Smithfield Foods since August 2024, Jim has previously held the position of Corporate Safety Director at the same company since March 2010, overseeing safety program development, compliance auditing, and risk management across over 50 sites nationally. Jim's background includes serving as President of Safety Service Solutions, where expertise in safety consulting was applied, and as Principal Risk Control Administrator at Hallmark Cards, focusing on OSHA compliance and safety management. Jim also contributed to safety training and regulatory support during tenure at Farmland Industries and held a leadership role as Vice President for Region 5 at the American Society of Safety Engineers. Jim holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Safety Management from the University of Central Missouri and a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Kansas State University.
