Alex Kesler has a diverse work experience in software engineering and leadership roles. Starting in 2006, they worked at Fast Enterprises, LLC as a Software Implementation Consultant, where they extended the functionality of a state government revenue collection system. They also worked at Adventos, LLC as a Solutions Consultant, mentoring software engineering staff.
In 2008, Alex joined Motorola Solutions as a Sr. Software Engineer, where they completed software development and system configuration tasks for Computer-Aided Dispatch systems. They also managed the performance testing lab and built complete application clusters.
In 2012, Alex began working at Trimble as a Sr. Software Engineer in Performance and later became the Software Engineering Tech Lead for Backend, Event Streaming, & API's. They developed SQL queries for operational insight, implemented tracing frameworks, and built load generators for capacity planning. They also re-architected backend RESTful API services for a telemetry events-processing system.
From 2016, Alex worked at Comcast, initially as a Sr. Software Engineer in Network Optimization, where they developed a telemetry solution for the Emergency Alert System. They later became a Sr. Software Engineer in Network Systems Eng, Cloud DVR, leading the conversion of Jenkins jobs to Concourse CI pipelines and developing tools in Golang.
Currently, Alex is a Staff Software Engineer at Fastly, where they work on Data Foundations.
Alex Kesler obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Computing from the University of Denver in 2005. After completing the undergraduate program, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Information Technology from the University of Denver - Daniels College of Business, which they completed in 2006. They furthered their education by earning a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Colorado State University between 2010 and 2013. In addition to their formal education, Alex Kesler obtained certifications such as a Six Sigma Yellow Belt from Motorola Solutions in December 2008 and a Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD): Web Developer certification from Microsoft in June 2007.
