Finnegan Smith

Finnegan Smith has a diverse work experience, with a focus on software engineering. Finnegan currently works at Fastly as a Staff Software Engineer, starting in April 2022. Prior to Fastly, Finnegan was with BuzzFeed for several years, where they held various roles including Staff Software Engineer and Senior Software Engineer. At BuzzFeed, they worked on projects such as designing and expanding the security bounty program, migrating the legacy Perl monolith to a modern infrastructure stack, and automating building and distribution processes through configuration management. Before BuzzFeed, Finnegan worked at Six Apart as a Software Engineer, where they built and scaled high availability media websites for enterprise clients. Finnegan'sresponsibilities included launch planning, capacity planning, load testing, migration, and mitigation for high traffic events. Finnegan also worked at Proto Software as a Software Engineer from 2005 to 2007.
