Yang Wang

Yang Wang has a diverse work experience spanning over different companies. Currently, Yang is working as a Principal Scientist at Fate Therapeutics Inc, starting in January 2022. Prior to this, Yang held multiple roles at Sorrento Therapeutics, Inc., including Associate Director, Senior Scientist, and Scientist, from September 2018 to January 2022. Yang's work at Sorrento involved various research responsibilities. Yang also worked at Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute as a Staff Scientist and Postdoctoral Fellow from October 2011 to September 2018, where they conducted research on RNA N6-Methyladenosine (m6A) methylation and stemness of embryonic stem cells. Yang's early work at Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences involved PhD research on generating and characterizing induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), discovering DNA demethylation mechanisms, and developing synthetic reprogramming factors.

Yang Wang received a PhD in Molecular and Cell Biology from the Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences from 2006 to 2011. Prior to that, Yang Wang obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology from Wuhan University from 2002 to 2006.
