Bryan Burkey Ph.D.

Bryan Burkey, Ph.D. has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. Bryan is currently serving as the Head of Therapeutics Discovery at FaunaBio since August 2021. Prior to this, they held the role of Head of Systems Biology at Walden Biosciences from July 2020 to July 2021.

From October 2019 to July 2020, Bryan worked as a Consultant at HotSpot Therapeutics, Inc. Before that, they were the Director/Sr Director and Head of Biology/Pharmacology at Zafgen, Incorporated from September 2014 to September 2019.

Earlier in their career, Bryan served as the Director, Head of Diabetes Pharmacology, and Global Development Team Research Lead at NIBR from January 2003 to August 2014. Bryan also worked as a Research Investigator/Sr. Research Investigator at Sandoz Research Institute/Novartis Research Institute from March 1993 to February 2003.

Bryan Burkey Ph.D. began their education in 1981 at Hiram College, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Biology, General. Bryan completed this program in 1984. Subsequently, from 1985 to 1991, they attended the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, where they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Developmental Biology.
