Feargal Ohanrahan

Feargal O'Hanrahan has a diverse work experience spanning over 30 years. Feargal has worked as the Head of IT Governance at FBD Insurance since 2017. Prior to that, Feargal was the Head of Risk at arvato Financial Solutions, Global F&A from 2013 to 2017. In this role, they managed an information security team, provided technical sign-off on infrastructure changes, and conducted risk assessments. Before that, Feargal held the position of Snr Business Development Manager at Arvato Services from 2007 to 2017, where they managed IT projects and reported on various control boards. Feargal also worked as a Snr Tech Manager at AOL Technologies Ireland Limited from 1999 to 2007, leading the back office work stream for a new EU internet portal. Lastly, Feargal started their career at eircom in 1989 as a TIS/Tims User Manager and later worked as a QA/Development Manager for billing systems.

Feargal OHanrahan pursued their education in a chronological order. In 1985, they enrolled at Dublin City University where they studied Electronic Engineering and obtained a BEng degree in 1989. After a significant gap in their education, they returned to academia in 2017. Feargal joined University College Dublin and completed a Master's degree in Computer Forensics and Digital Investigations, which they pursued from 2017 to 2018. Additionally, in 2017, they briefly attended the international Association of Privacy Professionals, specializing in European Data Protection, to earn a CIPP/E certification.
