Michael Kneissl has extensive work experience in various organizations. Michael began their career in 1996 at the Palo Alto Research Center (PARC), where they held the position of Principal Scientist for nine years. In 2005, they joined the Technische Universität Berlin as a Professor and the Ferdinand-Braun-Institut, Leibniz-Institut für Höchstfrequenztechnik as the Head of Business Area GaN Optoelectronics. It is unclear when their roles at these two organizations ended.
Michael Kneissl pursued their education in physics at Friedrich-Alexander University, Erlangen. From 1986 to 1992, they completed their Diploma in Physics. Subsequently, they went on to earn their Ph.D. in the same field from the same university, completing their doctoral studies from 1993 to 1996.
