Joel Renato Freire

Joel Renato Freire has extensive experience in the field of sports arbitration and management. Currently, Joel serves as a member of the Arbitration Council of the Federação de Andebol de Portugal, having been elected for the Olympic cycle from 2024 to 2028, and previously held the role of observer on the same council. Joel works at Banco Carregosa since January 2015 in roles related to chauffeur and fleet organization. From September 2013 to June 2018, Joel was a trainer and co-founder at the Escola de Formação de Árbitros de Andebol da Associação de Andebol do Porto. Joel's background includes experience as a national handball referee for the Federação de Andebol de Portugal and the Associação de Andebol do Porto between 1997 and 2018, as well as serving as a private security agent with INTEGRAL from 2000 to 2014. Education includes completion of the 11th Year in Information Technology at Colégio de Gaia and the 12th Year at Colégio Internato dos Carvalhos.
