Daniel Murphy

Vice President (a), Technical Operations at Federal Aviation Administration

Daniel Murphy is an accomplished aviation and physics professional with extensive experience in technical operations and performance analysis. Currently serving as Vice President of Technical Operations at the Federal Aviation Administration since September 2005, Daniel has held various leadership roles including Deputy Vice President of System Operations and Director of NAS Operations. Previous experience includes a research analyst position at CNA Corporation, where Daniel supported the FAA's Free Flight Program, and academic roles at UC Santa Barbara and Duke University, where Daniel focused on research and teaching in physics. Daniel holds a PhD and MS in Physics from Duke University and an A.B. in Physics from Washington University in St. Louis.
