Dr. Melissa Perry serves as a Judge at the Federal Court of Australia since September 2013 and holds the position of Deputy President at the Defence Force Discipline Appeal Tribunal as of September 2023. Additionally, since March 2023, Dr. Perry has been the Deputy Judge Advocate General for the Air Force with the Australian Defence Force and has held similar roles with the Royal Australian Air Force since 2011. Dr. Perry's legal career includes extensive experience as a barrister, having worked with 20 Essex St and 6 Selborne Wentworth, along with Bar Chambers from 1992 until 2013. Dr. Perry's academic qualifications include an LLB (Hons) from the University of Adelaide and multiple degrees from the University of Cambridge, including an LLM and a PhD in Public International Law, International Sales, and Conflict of Laws.
