Reginald O'Shields has had a diverse and extensive work experience. Reginald started their career as an Associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in 1996, focusing on corporate and finance. Reginald then joined Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, P.A. as an Associate in 1997, specializing in finance. In 1998, they moved on to Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP as an Associate, primarily working in finance and energy until 2003. During their time at Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP, they also worked as a Counsel at Calpine, specializing in power project development from November 2001 to January 2002.
In May 2003, they joined the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta as a Senior Vice President, taking on the roles of General Counsel and Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer. Reginald held this position until December 2019. From January 2020 to April 2022, they served as the Executive Vice President, Director of Enterprise Solutions, General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer. In April 2022, they were promoted to become the Executive Vice President, Chief Legal and Compliance Officer, and Director of Enterprise Solutions, a position they currently hold.
Reginald O'Shields received their J.D. degree in law from Vanderbilt University Law School from 1993 to 1996. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at Furman University, where they obtained a B.A. degree in Economics from 1989 to 1993. In addition to their academic qualifications, they hold a Certificate of Completion in Effective Executive Speaking from the American Management Association, obtained in 2016.
