Christopher H. Ritchie

Christopher (Chris) Ritchie is a senior vice president in the Federal Reserve System’s Financial Support Office, which is headquartered at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. He’s responsible for Business Operations and IT in the following groups: Central Accounting Technology Services, National Accounting and Customer Support Team, Financial Management and Shared Services Center, Financial Planning and Analytics CBAF, and the Program Management Office. The Financial Support Office reports to the Conference of First Vice Presidents and provides System-wide financial management leadership. It is also responsible for the management, support, and development of Federal Reserve System financial management operations.

Chris has more than 25 years of hands-on and management experience in various forms of IT. Chris was previously a vice president in the Fed’s Treasury and Financial Services Group, which included oversight of the Stored Value Card program, which Chris was involved with for a decade beginning in 2009. As part of that work, he spent 145 days outside of the U.S., supporting deployments and promotion of the SVC programs with the U.S. military. In December 2015, Chris assumed leadership of the development and migration of the Navy Cash program from JPMorgan Chase to the Fed.

Chris also worked for the Treasury Cash Management department and led the Straight Through Processing initiative, or STP. This initiative created a same-day payment settlement service that utilized all the payment systems within the Federal Reserve and replaced a slower net settlement process. In addition, Chris led the technical team that designed and implemented a national retail call center for the Bureau of the Public Debt.

Chris has worked at the Federal Reserve Bank since 1988. Prior to that, he worked at Compugraphics Corporation. He has an MBA from Northeastern and a bachelor’s in business administration with a concentration in computer science from the Whittemore School of Business at the University of New Hampshire.
