Jeff Gerlach

Jeff Gerlach has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and organizations. Jeff began their career as a Foreign Policy Analyst at the Cato Institute in 1992 before transitioning to the U.S. Department of State as a Foreign Service Officer in 1993. Afterward, Gerlach worked as an Assistant Professor at William & Mary from 2001 to 2007. Simultaneously, they served as an International Faculty Fellow at the MIT Sloan School of Management for a brief period in 2007.

In 2007, Gerlach joined the SKK Graduate School of Business as an Assistant Professor of Finance, where they worked until 2011. Following this, they became a Senior Financial Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, serving in that role from 2011 to 2014. Jeff then progressed to Assistant Vice President of Quantitative Supervision and Research at the same institution from 2014 to 2016. Finally, Gerlach reached the position of Vice President of Quantitative Supervision and Research/Risk & Surveillance at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond in January 2017.

Jeff Gerlach has a Ph.D in Economics from Indiana University Bloomington, which they obtained from 1996 to 2001. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in International Studies from the University of South Carolina between 1989 and 1991. Jeff completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Notre Dame from 1985 to 1989, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and International Relations.
