Caio Peixoto is the current Deputy Associate Director at the Federal Reserve. Prior to this, they worked as a Quality Engineer with Zimmer Biomet, and before that as a Biomedical Engineer with PlasmaDent, Inc.
Caio has experience in design control and risk management, preparing uFMEAs and dFMEAs, and reviewing and updating design and development verification documentation. With PlasmaDent, Inc., Caio designed and conducted ISO-compliant experiments to evaluate the shelf-life and performance of teeth whitening products and the antimicrobial efficacy of plasma devices. Caio also became familiar with industry standards such as ISO 10993, ISO 20795, and IEC 60601.
In addition to their engineering experience, Caio also has experience in regulatory affairs. They have prepared reports and literature reviews for submission to domestic and foreign regulatory agencies, opening new sales channels. Caio also served as the Chemical and Biological Safety Coordinator, preparing and implementing safety policies and training in compliance with OSHA/CDC standards and guidelines. Finally, Caio established and managed a microbiological laboratory (BSL2).
Caio Peixoto has a Master's Degree in Bioengineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia, a Bachelor's Degree in Science and Technology from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, and they were an Exchange Student in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Iowa.
Their manager is Jerome Powell, Chair of the Board of Governors. Caio Peixoto works with Leah Middleton - Assistant Director, Edward Anderson - Assistant Director, and Patrick J. McClanahan - Chief Operating Officer.
