Derek P. has a robust background in food security and community outreach, currently serving as the Manager of Government Food Operations at Feeding America since February 2024. Prior experience includes the role of Senior Policy & Research Manager at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, where research and advocacy efforts were focused on food security in Los Angeles from April 2019 to February 2024. Additional roles encompass positions at the Anti-Defamation League as a Civil Rights Assistant, EndGames Improv as a Stage Manager, and various outreach and development positions across significant organizations such as the SF-Marin Food Bank and Homeless Garden Project. Derek P. holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration with a concentration in Food Security and Global Governance from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, as well as a B.A. in Sociology and Psychology from UC Santa Barbara.
