Dr. Kashif Riaz has had a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of agriculture and microbiology. Dr. Kashif has held roles such as Director of Smart Agriculture at Ferme d'hiver, Indoor Farming Consultant in Montreal, and Co-founder of Plant Castle Farms.

Dr. Riaz has also worked as an Invited Researcher at the University of California, Davis, where they conducted studies on plant-microbiome interactions using metagenomics and next-generation sequencing. Additionally, they have served as an Assistant Professor of Phytopathology at the United States Center for Advanced Studies in Agriculture and Food Security, where they focused on sequencing bacterial genomes and teaching and supervising students.

Earlier in their career, Dr. Riaz worked as a Postdoctoral Scientist in Bacterial Genomics at the INRA French National Institute for Agricultural Research and as a Research Scholar in Bacterial Communications at CNRS.

Throughout their career, Dr. Riaz has developed expertise in various areas, including plant growth chamber design, indoor vertical farming, plant-microbiome studies, bacterial genomics, and bacterial communications. Dr. Kashif has also conducted research on a wide range of crops and pathogens, with a focus on developing bioinoculants, biocontrol methods, and disease management strategies.

Overall, Dr. Kashif Riaz's work experience showcases their extensive knowledge and expertise in agriculture and microbiology, particularly in the areas of plant-microbiome interactions, bacterial genomics, and indoor farming.

Dr. Kashif Riaz completed their education at Paris-Sud University (Paris XI) from 2005 to 2009, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Plant Sciences/Microbial Ecology. Prior to that, they attended the University of Strasbourg from 2004 to 2005, earning a DEA (Diplôme d'Études Approfondies) in Plant Molecular Biology.

In addition to their formal education, Dr. Riaz has obtained additional certifications. In August 2016, they completed a Seed treatment applicator certification at the University of California, Davis. Earlier, in January 2012, they became a certified Master Trainer through the Higher Education Commission.
