Brandon Hawker has a diverse range of work experience in the software development industry. Brandon is currently an engineering leader and software engineering lead at Fetch, where they are responsible for making technical and product decisions, mentoring engineering talent, and developing scalable backend micro-services. Prior to this, they worked as the owner/lead developer at Pedlar Studios, LLC, where they focused on mobile and wearable software development. Brandon has also worked as an iOS platform architect/technical lead at Noble Applications, where they developed mobile apps in Objective-C and Swift, as well as native Android applications. Additionally, Brandon has experience as a senior software engineer at Mandli Communications, where they developed geographic information system asset management software, and as a senior application developer at Paradigm, where they developed desktop and web applications. Brandon started their career as a help desk assistant at Northern Michigan University, providing technical support to students and faculty. Brandon also gained experience as a contributing editor at DAPreview, where they wrote news posts and product reviews related to digital audio technology.
Brandon Hawker attended Northern Michigan University from 2003 to 2007, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Mathematics. In addition to their degree, they also obtained certifications in A+ Essentials and A+ Remote Support Technician from CompTIA in 2007.
